Welcome to our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities page. I am Ms Bowden the Special Educational Needs Coordinator. My role is to ensure that our pupils with additional needs have all they need to succeed during their time at McMillan Nursery School. This includes working closely with parents, as well as liaising with other professionals and agencies.

As a prospective parent/carer, you may already be aware that your child has additional needs. In other cases, concerns may be raised once children have started with us. Whatever the circumstance, we endeavour to do all we can to support you and your family with any decisions that need to be made. We work closely with you as parents/carers and with other agencies to determine whether additional support is required and if so, the form that this should take.

Our nursery benefits from having a nurture classroom for children who may need more intensive adult support to close developmental gaps and access a more personalised curriculum. We also have a sensory room equipped with soft play equipment and sensory lighting as a calming and safe space for children to engage in sensory exploration.
